Julian Vance & Studio
Exploring the confluence of optical physics, emotional narrative, and timeless medium format fidelity across seven continents.
Crafting Images That Outlive Generations
Founded by Julian Vance in 2012, LUMEN & CO. emerged from an obsession with the tactile quality of natural light and the unmatched resolving power of medium format glass. What began as solitary expeditions into the freezing shadows of northern Norway has grown into an international studio commissioned by global luxury fashion houses, architectural conservatories, and private art patrons.
We avoid fleeting algorithmic trends. Instead, we utilize bespoke monochrome chemistry, 16-bit color gamuts, and three-dimensional spatial staging to evoke an atmospheric sense of presence that pulls the viewer into the frame.
"A photograph does not freeze time; it distills existence into its purest geometric and emotional harmony."
— Julian Vance, Tokyo 2025Hasselblad & Leica Bespoke Rigs
